Release extravaganza: CM 11.0 and 12.0 Final

Post oleh : BHN | Rilis : 1:43:00 AM | Series :
As we look forward to Android M’s release later this year and continue work to integrate the latest from Android 5.1.1_r5 (released yesterday), we are finalizing the branches of CM11.0 and CM12.0. They have seen improved stability and security fixes over the past few months, but little in the way of further development as the focus shifted to CM12.1.
Tonight, the final snapshot releases of both 11.0 and 12.0 are going live – available in sequence as they are built out by our Jenkins instance.
Why another CM11 build? Rather surprisingly, many users have been slow to upgrade to L – whether due to the lack of a snapshot release or adverse reaction to the Material design, we don’t know. The meager stats that we have show that there is a rather large contingency of users who are sticking to CM11 as their release channel of choice, so we felt compelled to give a release showcasing all the work that went into that branch to make it ship ready.
There shouldn’t be any ‘gotchas’ with regards to flashing these builds for CM11 or CM12 users (minus the obligatory warning to make sure your gapps and etc match the Android version you are using). Upgrades should go through without issues, though many 11.0 users updating to 12.0 are advised to update their recoveries as well to ensure that SELinux support doesn’t give you a headache.
12.1 nightly users should not be compelled to downgrade to these releases.
Nightlies and weeklies for 11 and 12.0 branches will be slowly phased out, most likely shut off come M’s entry to nightlies. CM12.1 nightlies will continue as we prepare a release build for 5.1.1 as well (no ETA, sorry).
As always, bug reports can be submitted via our JIRA instance – though in all honesty CM11 issues are unlikely to see massive work, unless they prove to be ultra critical. CM12.0 bugs are fair game, as the code base between 12.0 and 12.1 are similar enough, and the bug likely impacts both branches if present.
Happy Flashing,
The CyanogenMod Team

    where is cm12.1 for n7100 ?
it is obviously not that hard to code for the exynos chip (n7105 runs the same and has an official release)
  • LordDarthNader
for now you can use ivan meier’s unofficial ROM it works fine and is stable (with a few bugs here and there.. but that is expected)
i hope they sort their shit out. n7105 has an official release and uses the same hardware… I don’t get why they can’t port to n7100

There isn’t even any cm12 builds for i9500

I flashed CM12 (L) yesterday and boy was I totally disappointing in it.
The visuals was like others have said very childlike lacking the sophistication or KitKat.
I kept getting inteupted with the ” bug notification” and I would submit just to be interrupted again and again. Then after about 4 or 5 times it stopped only to start up again just a couple of minutes later..
The phone part was just ridiculous and hard to navigate.
The animations look and feel unprofessional and it just looks like it was thrown together in a couple of hours and performs like it too.
I was so excited to try it , but now I am sticking to the original Samsung 4.4.2.
If the Android OS upgrade for Samsung is looking like CM12, then I am turning off my auto update for sure and keeping 4..4.2.
The previous comment about Windows 7 vs. Windows 8 is almost a mirror of what this feels like to me.
That’s just my dimes worth for putting in my two cents, and you can keep the change along with CM12 . :)

I wonder if anyone is working on Wifi Calling for other devices, now that the 5.1.1_r5 source includes the code for wifi calling on shamu. Could get interesting…

I have the same Problem on Nexus 7 with 12.1 from time to time. Turning on WLan and reboot solves it for me. After that SIM should be available again.

Where is my Galaxy S2 i9100 CM11 Snapshot?
  • Major Parsnip
I haven’t upgraded to L due to the lack of snapshots for serranoltexx, yeah.

May u guys check your jenkins instance? Your Master node is showing an out of memory alert and there are many people waiting for their builds to be released..

Thanks guys! Keep up the excellent work!

    “Why another CM11 build?”
I don’t get that question. I haven’t upgraded to CM12 yet because it hadn’t been released as stable until today. Presumably many others have the same reason.

Waiting for CM 12 on T805…

Lollipop, at least in my experience, is faster than Kitkat. In Cm12.1 nightlies, Apps load as quickly, and run as smoothly as iOS apps now (not to say that Kitkat had good performance, but Lollipop has a noticeable leap in performance)
I’m not sure if this is due to the new Android Runtime environment introduced in Lollipop, but just my two cents, as a heavy user of CM11 and CM12.1 on Galaxy S4.
  • Melkizedek
Thanks. Have you a link to this unofficial rom?
  • Zeke Lawrence
It was a terrible decision in my opinion. Honestly at this point I may be returning to stock firmware, if only I could find the right files! Haha

Will latest CM11 work for GT-I9195I (S4 Mini plus)? I could find any viable rooting solution for that device.
  • Jonathan Coetzee
I for one am part of the crowed that never upgraded to L, for one reason and one reason alone, I was waiting for the snapshot release that never came! Seriously, been waiting the whole year. You can’t never release a stable build (or more stable than nightly) and then wonder why people aren’t upgrading…
  • popos
Yeah, about 20 devices with snapshoots cm12 and cm11, great, cm going to the dogs
  • Bogdan Chelariu
    News on cm12 for I9500 S4 Exynos variant ?
  • Ghrost Tails
We usually get snapshots named like M11, M12. What about XNG3CAO1L8? Why was it not M13?
  • Mathew Sullivan
Really? because if I remember correctly, to call out the notification toggle, onr has to swipe down TWICE.
Also, if I remember correctly, statusbar brightness control looks and feels like a piece of crap, as well as the countless other ridiculously disgusting animations in L&M.
Perhaps you should kindly remove your head from your ass and realize that I was expressing my own opinion, and one in which I am proudly entitled to.
You like taking it in the ass from greasy burly men, I like making sweet love to beautiful women. Personal preference I guess ;)

this is a good move for people still on legacy devices. i like alot of the features that come with lollipop and an using 5.1.1 on my nexus 4 happily however even with the latest version of lollipop it just cripples my nexus 7 2012 tab so i have to stay with kitkat on that
  • Craig Lewis
I’m on CM11-M12. I’m just waiting for the CM updater to tell me there is an update available.
  • http://forabi.blogspot.com/ Muhammad Fawwaz Orabi
I tried hard to stay with CM12.1 but it drains battery like crazy. KitKat is stable, fast and power-efficient. What could I need more?
  • ElecProg
Actualy you don’t have to pull down twice to go to the quick settings, you can just tap anywhere on the right side of the top grey bar (so in fact it’s easier, because you don’t have tot look for the button anymore) also in CM12 you have a setting so that when you pull down on the right side you go instantly to the quicktoggles…
  • Portzblitz
I’m a huge, huge fan of Material Design. I really loved Jelly Bean, and was certainly happy with Kit Kat’s refinements, but Lollipop and M just feel to me to be an Android that is finally, truly, mature and elegant, and minimal and perfect.. And most of that is well thanks to Material Design. I love it.
But, “be together not the same”, right?
    Sorry Kit Kat lovers.
  • Frankenstu
Just stop. I’m sure thus guy bitched about Windows Vista and is still running XP because it is superior. It’s a lost cause when people are frightened of change.

    So… Shamu?

Please fix the bug in “Music” com.CyanogenMod.eleven : if I frequently click previous or next button in “now playing”, the app will run without any sound, and the ringtones and so on will be unable to make any sound until I reboot. Since 12.0 for Nexus 5. 12.1 Still not fixed. Apollo on 11 works all right when I was using 11. I love this new-designed music app but I have to use something else now just because of this. Thanks and forgive me for my poor English…

    Where is Hammerhead?!

hey everyone has an right to an opinion i prefer L but CM12 has too many bugs for my taste, but yay for snapshots
  • M.C.
    No Hammerhead?!
  • Ed
I haven’t upgraded due to the lack of a snapshot build. I’m not willing to debug a randomly broken nightly build, so I stick to snapshots.
I’ve been pretty disappointed with the lack of a recent snapshot build, or any communication about them. The main reason I run CM is because of the enhanced privacy controls. It seems that Google is planning on adding similar controls to the Android M release. Once those are available I’ll have to reevaluate if it makes sense to stick with CM.
